United We Stood

To commemorate 60 years of Indian Independence, our office folks (Indians) had a get together which was organised by me and group of my friends.

People were surprised to see us with Indian flags as badges that was stuck in our shirts. And I could see our National Anthem print outs hanging at certain cubicles and so as Indian flags. Wat a spirit!

From Struggle...To Freedom...To Prosperity...India moves forward and so as we...This was the commencing line of my email to all their inboxes asking people to mark their calendars for a get together. Collecting all the names by running over and through all their cubicles was a bit tough, though there was no other go...

There was a good number of folks who turned up. It kicked off well with a cute little boy (one of our folks son) came to introduce himself...Then we had snacks, pop which was accompanied by a cake cutting in which 'Jai Hind' was inscribed. It was followed by a photo session and ended with the pride of India...National Anthem. This was a formal sign-off, but we din't want to leave like that. We moved into the informal part of the gathering - Anthakshari...With a blend of people from different regions, we were able to listen songs of different languages...

After a few rounds, we dispersed with a sense of fulfillment and joy! What else you need to rejuvenate???

It was a good effort as a whole, is what I felt! Kudos to all those who were behind the scenes helping me to make this a success!!!
